CM to Inaugurate GIDA’s 34th Foundation Day: Anticipated Investment Projects on the Horizon

Everything’s set for the big day! Gorakhpur is abuzz as it gears up to celebrate GIDA’s 34th Foundation Day starting this Thursday. The event is a big leap for Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), aimed at matching Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to elevate it to the level of Noida.

The preparations are impressive—a four-day trade fair and the launch of the new GIDA sector sprawling over 200 acres near Kalesar, all dedicated to setting up industries. Yogi Adityanath himself will grace the occasion as the chief guest, adding grandeur to the event with his presence.

The Chief Minister plans to do more than cut ribbons; he’s scheduled exclusive sessions with a dozen handpicked industrialists. His goal? To ignite their interest and inspire investments in the region, confirmed by his office. This event could be the turning point, propelling Gorakhpur into the league of industrial giants.

Leaders from various industries – agriculture, leather, LuLu Mall, mustard oil, and PepsiCo – are set to voice their concerns and discuss potential investments during a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Anuj Malik, GIDA’s CEO, assured that Adityanath will launch and reveal significant projects worth ₹1300 crore, expected to create jobs for nearly 3400 young people.

Elaborating on the initiatives, Malik explained that private investors are contributing ₹800 crore, while GIDA will facilitate land allotments for new factories, amounting to ₹500 crore. Additionally, the CM will inaugurate a four-day trade fair, similar to the prestigious Pragati Maidan event. GIDA officials are eagerly awaiting the CM’s visit and anticipate receiving symbolic gifts from him.

All arrangements for the event are finalized, including a comprehensive four-day trade fair and the establishment of a new GIDA sector spread across 200 acres near Kalesar, dedicated to industrial setup allocations.

Malik confirmed that among the upcoming initiatives, the launch of the GIDA Seva Portal, a user-friendly online platform for easy access to information and lodging complaints, will be a highlight. In preparation for the anticipated four-day trade fair, district authorities have set up around 250 stalls exhibiting a diverse array of locally sourced products.

GIDA, established on November 30, 1989, experienced a significant uptick in industrial growth after 2017, coinciding with Yogi Adityanath’s assumption of the Chief Minister’s office. Noteworthy among these advancements was the substantial investment made by multinational conglomerates like PepsiCo, amounting to a substantial ₹1100 crore injection into the region’s economy.
