CrossFit Games 2024: Athlete Missing After Swim Event

The CrossFit Games 2024 kicked off in Fort Worth, Texas, on Thursday, but the excitement quickly turned to concern after an athlete went missing.

The first team event was canceled by organizers following the disappearance of Lazar Dukic during an event that involved both running and swimming. Dukic struggled in the final meters of the swim and appeared to have difficulty staying afloat, even losing his swim cap.

His team noticed his absence and alerted the organizers, realizing that he hadn’t made it out of the water. This prompted an emergency search for the missing athlete. Several attendees reported seeing Dukic struggling in the water, and some even attempted to help but were stopped by a lifeguard. An ambulance was on-site at the event.
