Delhi: Several BJP Members Detained Demanding Arvind Kejriwal’s Resignation

They demanded the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after the arrest of BJP members at an exhibition. This exhibition took place in New Delhi, the capital of Delhi, where the police made efforts to disperse the crowd by using water cannon.

Following the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption case investigated by the Indian judicial body, he was sent to jail, where he joined two more senior leaders of his party. An appeal was filed against this decision in the Supreme Court, but the Supreme Court rejected it for urgent hearing.

BJP members demonstrated near Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headquarters in Delhi, from where police removed them in buses. “A government cannot be run from jail…If Arvind Kejriwal does not resign, the law will take its course,” said BJP’s leader of opposition in the assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.

Despite this, AAP said that the case against Kejriwal was “false” and he would not resign. Nearly 30 opposition parties have formed an alliance against Kejriwal’s arrest, which also includes AAP. BJP and Modi government have rejected this and said that law enforcement agencies are only doing their job.
