Holika Dahan puja method (Holika Dahan puja vidhi)
There is a tradition of worshiping Holika Maa before Holika Dahan on Phalgun Purnima. Start your day by waking up before sunrise, taking bath and wearing fresh clothes. In the evening, collect the puja thali and go to the Holika Dahan site. Sit facing east or north. Start the puja by offering a garland made of cow dung to Holika. Then offer other offerings including Roli, Akshat, fruits, flowers, garland, turmeric, moong, jaggery, gulal, colours, Satnaja, wheat earrings, sugarcane and gram.
After this, wrap Kalava around Holika and revolve around it 5 or 7 times. Then offer water and pray to Holika Maa for happiness and wealth. Later in the evening, during Holika Dahan, add barley or Akshat to the fire. Fresh crops are thrown into the flames and roasted. People take the roasted grains home and distribute them as Prasad. This work is considered very auspicious in the scriptures.
Lunar eclipse 2024 (Chandra Grahan 2024 )
This year the festival of Holi may lack its usual liveliness. According to the Hindu calendar, the first lunar eclipse of the year is falling on the day of Holi. This lunar eclipse is going to occur on Monday, March 25. The eclipse will start at 10:24 am and will last till 03:01 pm, which will last for a total of 4 hours 36 minutes.
