Apple just unveiled its eagerly awaited iOS 18 update, and it’s got a dollop of its flavor of AI. But this isn’t just about a super-charged Siri. This fall’s big iPhone update brings features that yours truly has wanted for years.
- Apple Intelligence: AI for the iPhone
- Available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and later, Apple Intelligence is full of tricks. It includes the Rewrite tool, which helps you reword your writing. You can adjust by three styles: Friendly, Professional, and Concise. You could even ask for your words to be rewritten so they “read like a poem.” (Honestly, I’m not won over by this option.)
- Image Playground: A new image creation tool with styles like Animation, Illustration, and Sketch. You can even create your emoji, called Genmoji. Imagine a tiny dinosaur riding an airplane wearing a football helmet!
- Messages Updates: Get ready for giggles in your group chat.

iOS 18 is scheduled to be revealed during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 10, 2024. Public developer betas arrive in July and the stable version drops in September.
