Israeli Authorities Investigate Discovery of Five Deceased Hostages in Gaza Tunnel

According to Gaza health officials, dozens of people have been killed in an Israeli strike as the focus on Israel’s war against Hamas militants shifts to the besieged territories in the south. Israel’s continuous air and ground offensive has devastated much of Gaza, resulting in over 20,000 casualties, mostly comprising women and children. The Health Ministry in Hamas-controlled Gaza stated that at least 70 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting several houses in a refugee camp.

The ministry stated that homes were destroyed in the Al-Maghazi camp in the Palestinian area. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there is a pressing need for a significant reward for the war because the ratio of soldiers killed in the fight against Hamas militants has become 1:54 . This came after the announcement of the deaths of 14 soldiers in Gaza by the army on Friday. He said, and I’m quoting here, “Let me make it absolutely clear, this will be a long war.” Netanyahu also dismissed reports that the United States had urged Israel not to escalate its military activities.

Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that Biden persuaded Netanyahu not to attack Hezbollah due to concerns that it might provoke an assault similar to the October seventh rampage carried out by Hamas.

Benjamin Netanyahu Prime Minister Of Israel

I told President Biden yesterday that we will fight until a complete victory however long it takes. The United States understands that. I’ve seen false publications claiming that the US prevented and is preventing us from operations in the region. This is not true. Israel is a sovereign state. Our decisions in the war are based on our operational considerations, and I will not elaborate on that. They are not dictated by external pressures.

Nathan Yahoo:

The whole world will be against us.’ Regarding reports, the Israeli Prime Minister reprimanded the economy minister, Nirbarkat, for complaining that not enough was being done to protect soldiers’ lives. The minister said, and I quote again, ‘Soldiers are being sent to trapped buildings like sitting ducks.

‘ He claimed that the results were tactics that are unnecessary and endangering the soldiers. In a post perceived as a rebuke to Nirbarkat, War Cabinet Minister Benny Gantz praised the soldiers and mentioned that they’re receiving all necessary tools. He stated that the ground forces are getting extensive and precise aerial cover with unprecedented power. Five Israeli hostages killed in Hamas captivity were recovered from an underground tunnel network in the Northern Gaza Strip. Chief military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stated that the postmortems were still pending. Israeli President Isaac Herzog delivered a nationally televised speech on Sunday, appealing for the country to remain united.

Released detainees and a doctor mentioned that Palestinians captured by Israeli forces have been subjected to mistreatment in custody, including beatings and deprivation of food. However, the Israeli military has dismissed these claims, stating that they abide by international law in their treatment of detainees. Keep an eye on this.

On Sunday

Nathan expressed concern that the healthcare system in Gaza is being destroyed. The United Nations health agency has issued warnings about the state of healthcare in the besieged region, where only nine out of 36 hospitals are partially operational due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas militants. A spokesperson for the Health Ministry in Gaza mentioned that healthcare in the southern region is in critical condition, with no health services available in Northern Gaza.
