On Monday, Suriya released the trailer for his upcoming film Kanguva, directed by Siva, to celebrate the director’s birthday. The highly anticipated action-drama stars Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani in the lead roles. The trailer provides a sneak peek into the film’s storyline but refrains from revealing too much.

Suriya shared the trailer on X (formerly Twitter), wishing the director a happy birthday with the message, “Incredibly proud of all that we have done together as a team. Thank you, and wishing you a very happy birthday, dearest Siva! Here’s our #KanguvaTrailer for you all!”
The 2-minute-37-second trailer opens with an elderly woman remarking, “Many mysteries are scattered across this island we call home. But the most baffling of them all…” The trailer then reveals Suriya and Bobby Deol as fierce warriors and leaders of their tribes, hinting at an inevitable showdown between the two. The title Kanguva, which means “fire” in Tamil, seems fitting as the trailer teases an intense, action-packed tale.
However, the trailer also withholds details about another side of the story that had been hinted at earlier. A previous poster shared by Suriya depicted him in two different avatars—a tribal warrior and a modern character—but the trailer and other promotional materials have yet to reveal this aspect of the plot.
