Now why did Ab de Villiers retire?

Despite being in good form and having a successful international career, AB de Villiers retired from cricket. Even after retiring, he was excelling in various leagues. It didn’t seem like he had retired from international cricket. But now, he has made a surprising revelation. De Villiers’ retirement wasn’t due to him; it was due to his son. It was because of one action by his son. Until now, this was never talked about. But now, AB de Villiers openly revealed that his retirement was due to his son.

So, what was the reason? AB de Villiers spilled the beans. Let me tell you. In 2014, de Villiers, who began his international cricket career, played 114 Test matches, 228 ODIs, and 78 T20 matches. His international career was phenomenal, amassing over 20,000 international runs. He also delivered outstanding performances for RCB in the IPL, earning him the moniker ‘Mr. 360°.’ However, in 2018, he announced retirement from international cricket and retired from the IPL in 2021. That means even after his retirement from international cricket, he continued playing IPL for three years.

However, in a recent conversation with Wisden Cricket, de Villiers explained how  Due to an injury to his eye, his international cricket career was destroyed. The injury affected his eyesight. He said his son accidentally kicked him in the eye, causing discomfort in his vision. Despite the vision problem, he continued playing cricket for two more years. However, after undergoing treatment for his eye, he couldn’t return to the field. de Villiers said, “My son accidentally kicked me in the eye. After that, the vision in my right eye began to fade. When I had surgery, the doctor asked me how I could play cricket in this condition. Fortunately, my left eye did a great job in the last two years of my career.

So, De villiers played the last two years of cricket, delivering sensational performances for RCB. He played in a way with just one eye because he was almost unaware of the vision in his other eye. AB de Villiers said, “I often thought whether this could be the end of my career. I really didn’t want to play IPL or anything else. I distanced myself from everything in 2018 and then decided to continue with Test cricket once again. I wanted to try and beat India and Australia here, then retire again. I didn’t want any spotlight on me. That’s all I wanted to say. I had a great time. Thank you very much. That means de Villiers is telling.

Tell me because of your son’s mistake My international career was ruined. Which I could play for three or four years. He ended his international career in 2018, but had a very strong international career. De Villiers one of the best. South African batsmen will always be remembered in history. Is the batsman ready?
