According to multiple reports, the talented T20 batsman will indeed join struggling MI after receiving approval from the National Cricket Academy. The timing of Suryakumar’s return to MI couldn’t be better for the team, which is looking for a change after three consecutive IPL defeats.
Surya could not play the first three matches due to a fitness problem. Surya had groin surgery in Germany in January this year. Surya underwent surgery for the second time for his groin injury. After this, he was undergoing rehab at NCA in Bengaluru.

Suryakumar was ruled out of competitive cricket after suffering an ankle injury during the match against South Africa in December. The return of Suryakumar, the top-ranked T20I batsman in the world who scored more than 600 runs including one century and five half-centuries in the last IPL season, should at least partially ease MI’s ongoing problems.
