US FBI Director’s Visit to India Amidst Alleged Assassination Plot Probe

The director of the US FBI, Christopher Ray, will visit India next week. Well, the planned visit comes amid a US federal investigation into an alleged plot to kill Khalistani terrorist, Gurpatwant Singh on American soil.

This will be Ray’s first trip to India since taking over as director in 2017, as well as the first one by an FBI director in twelve years. The announcement was made at the Global Technology Summit by Think Tank, Carnegie, India, and the Ministry of External Affairs, while Eric Garth City, the onboard representative for Washington, was in attendance.

As for reports, Indian probe Agency NIA will discuss cases and evidence against Gurpatwant Singh . Pannu is one of the founders of US-based, Separatist Group Six for Justice, SFJ. Few days ago, the US charged an Indian man of attempting to kill the the Pakistani leader on American soil. India disassociated itself with the incident and expressed concern over being associated with the alleged plot. Us State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller on Tuesday stated that Washington will wait to see the results of New Delhi’s investigation.
