A Quiet Place: Day One is a 2024 American apocalyptic horror film written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, based on a story he conceived with John Krasinski.

As the third installment in the A Quiet Place film series, it serves as a spin-off prequel to the original film.

The movie stars Lupita Nyong'o, Joseph Quinn, and Alex Wolff, with Djimon Hounsou reprising his role from A Quiet Place Part II (2020).

The plot centers on a woman named Sam during the early stages of an invasion in New York City by blind extraterrestrial creatures with an acute sense of hearing.

Paramount Pictures began developing A Quiet Place: Day One in November 2020, initially with Jeff Nichols set to write and direct.

Although Nichols completed the script by May 2021, he departed from the project in October 2021 due to creative differences.

In January 2022, Michael Sarnoski was announced as Nichols' replacement; John Krasinski approached him because of his acclaimed indie film Pig (2021).

The film premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 26, 2024, and will be released in the United States by Paramount Pictures on June 28, 2024. It has received positive reviews.
