Jawan is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Atlee in his Hindi film debut.
Produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role as a father and son who team up to combat corruption in society.
Supporting roles are played by Nayanthara, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra.
Filming began in September 2021 across various cities. Anirudh Ravichander composed the soundtrack, with cinematography by G. K. Vishnu and editing by Ruben.
Some scenes were simultaneously re-shot for the Tamil version, including Khan's appearance in the song "Zinda Banda", Sethupathi's portions, and scenes featuring Yogi Babu.
Jawan was delayed from June 2, 2023, to September 7, 2023, and released in standard, IMAX, and 4DX formats.
Grossing over ₹1,148.32 crores (US$140 million), it became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023, the second-highest-grossing Hindi film, and the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film overall.
