Nowruz, also known as the Persian New Year, is a celebration that symbolizes hope and spring. It is celebrated by millions of people across the world

Particularly in countries with similar Silk Road heritage, including Afghanistan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey and other countries with their diasporas.

Nowruz marks the first day of spring and is celebrated at the moment of the spring equinox. The spring equinox

occurs when the Sun aligns equally over the northern and southern hemispheres based on the Earth's rotation and tilt.

The United Nations declared 21 March (usually the spring equinox) as International Nowruz Day in 2010.
