National Guard kids can’t enter religious egg designs for the 2024 White House event.
The art contest is part of the White House’s Easter traditions, which include the annual Easter Egg Roll. The contest flyer says no religion or politics in the egg designs.”
“Egg Farmers give a decorated egg to the First Lady for 50 years. In 2021, they added youth-designed eggs to the display in the East Colonnade. Now, National Guard families send art to celebrate military families for Jill Biden.”
Children were asked to design eggs with images based on their own lives. The flyer says artists will turn National Guard kids’ designs into real egg art. These will shown at the White House for Easter and Passover.
Kids can’t design for bigotry, racism, or discrimination.
Selected designs will portrayed by artists on real eggs and displayed at the White House. The White House said the Easter Egg Roll will have an ‘Education’ theme, like before.
“Mrs. Jill Biden, a teacher for over 30 years, is bringing ‘Education’ to the event. The South Lawn and Ellipse will become a fun school community with educational activities for kids of all ages… An estimated 40,000 people are expected to take part in Monday’s annual event.

Next to egg fun, there’s PE, School, Reading, Farm, Picture, and snacks. Kids’ entertainment, like educational shows, will be on the School House stage
American Egg Board President and CEO Emily Metz represents America’s egg farmers. She told Fox News Digital that they’ve partnered with the White House for 47 years. Metz said, ‘We must follow strict USDA rules for our marketing and promotion as a checkoff.”
She said, ‘We all have to follow guidelines, and the first one is not discriminating against any commodity.’. We can’t go out there and say, Heyy, pork is awful and we should get eggs.’ We have to be very, clear about that. We also can promote one type of egg over the other type of egg. So we have to be, excuse the pun, egg-gnostic. And above all, no discrimination based on race, religion, sex, or sexual identity.”

We must treat all religions and political beliefs equally. We need to stay neutral and focus solely on promoting and marketing eggs. And this is a huge opportunity for us to showcase the incredible eggs in a really fun and unique way.”
